Job description
Role Overview
This senior leadership position owns enterprise-wide project governance and strategic delivery. The person in this role will shape the company’s project management approach, lead the project portfolio, and oversee major initiatives. The objective is to put strong, consistent project management practices in place so that corporate strategy, product direction, and business goals are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget, and with clear business impact.
Project Management Strategy and Framework
Build the organization’s overall project management strategy and long-term roadmap. Set up an enterprise PMO and governance structure, define standard project lifecycle methods, and keep improving the tools, processes, and systems that support project delivery.
Project Portfolio and Resource Management
Own the management of the full project portfolio. Assess priorities and strategic fit, improve allocation of people and budget, and make sure project spending supports business goals.
Major Project Execution and Delivery
Direct important enterprise-level programs such as digital transformation, system improvements, and new business launches. Put milestone tracking, stage-gate reviews, and delivery controls in place. Ensure initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality level while addressing key risks and blockers.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Coordinate work across Product, R&D, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other functions. Align departments around shared goals, improve collaboration, and create clear processes for communication, escalation, and decision-making to strengthen organizational execution.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Create project KPIs and performance review systems. Track schedule, cost, quality, and resource usage, carry out post-project reviews, and continuously improve delivery practices. Provide regular updates on project status and business impact to the CEO or executive leadership.
Team and Capability Development
Lead the PMO and project management teams. Build capability models and talent pipelines for project managers, encourage strong professional standards and certifications such as PMP and Agile, and foster a culture focused on results and execution.
Risk and Compliance
Set up processes to identify risks early and manage warnings proactively. Handle risks related to budgets, contracts, delivery, and operations. Ensure work follows internal policies and industry standards while protecting brand reputation and customer trust.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Project Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. PMP, PgMP, or similar certifications are preferred, and an MBA is an added advantage.
Candidates should bring more than 20 years of experience in project management or broad operations management, including at least 15 years leading large, complex projects or running a PMO. A strong record of delivering cross-functional and multi-region projects is needed. Experience in digital transformation or enterprise project management is preferred.
Preferred Background
Additional value will be given to candidates with experience in project governance at large conglomerates or multinational organizations, as well as hands-on exposure to digital transformation, ERP, CRM, or platform upgrade initiatives. Familiarity with Agile or SAFe approaches and experience presenting major project updates to the CEO or Board are also desirable.
Core Competencies
Strong project governance and portfolio management skills are essential, along with the ability to translate strategy into execution. The role also requires advanced problem-solving, risk management, cross-functional coordination, resource integration, executive leadership, and organizational management capabilities.
