Position Overview
The Vice President of Operations is a pivotal executive responsible for enhancing operational performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and organizational scalability within a multi-location service environment. Reporting directly to the President and functioning as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position will oversee operational execution, cultivate leadership talent, refine business processes, and ensure the consistent delivery of outstanding customer outcomes while meeting financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations across multiple service sites to ensure consistent execution, quality standards, and high customer satisfaction.
- Define performance benchmarks, operational priorities, and robust accountability frameworks.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Manage operational performance and gross margin achievement throughout the business.
- Track key performance indicators and operational metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and best practices across the organization.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks that affect customer experience or financial results.
- Establish scalable systems and processes to support future business expansion.
- Ensure timely and satisfactory delivery of projects and service commitments to clients.
- Support customer retention efforts and maintain strong relationships with major accounts.
- Liaise with commercial teams to ensure operational capabilities align with client agreements.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor operational leaders and managers.
- Build organizational capacity through succession planning and talent development programs.
- Cultivate a workplace culture emphasizing accountability, ownership, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
- Actively participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
- Contribute to the formulation of organizational strategy, growth plans, and business initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally to support long-term company objectives and value creation.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive operational leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-site service, industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, engineering, or technical service operations.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, profitability, and operational KPIs.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams and develop emerging operational leaders.
- Experience in implementing process enhancements, accountability systems, and scalable operating models.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
