Role overview
This remote, full-time position is for a Vice President of Operations who will lead BFIC’s operational function. The role is responsible for managing daily activities, refining processes, and ensuring operations support the organization’s strategic priorities within the fintech ecosystem.
The Vice President Operations will handle resource planning, operational coordination across functions, and execution support for programs, research efforts, and policy advocacy initiatives. The position also partners closely with senior leadership on strategy, tracks project progress and performance, and helps strengthen relationships with members and external stakeholders.
A key part of the job is improving service delivery, boosting organizational effectiveness, and continuously enhancing BFIC’s overall impact.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and improve day-to-day operational work, ensuring activities run smoothly and efficiently.
- Design, implement, and refine processes that help achieve BFIC’s strategic objectives.
- Coordinate across teams to support delivery of programs, research projects, and advocacy initiatives.
- Manage operational resources and support effective allocation of people, time, and budgets.
- Work with leadership on strategic planning and operational prioritization.
- Track financial performance, operational results, and key metrics to guide decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, and organizational impact.
- Lead key projects and ensure they are executed on time and in alignment with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Proven strength in operations management and project management, especially in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.
- Experience handling P&L responsibility and making sound financial decisions to support sustainable performance.
- Ability to develop strategic plans and translate them into clear operational action.
- Experience in customer service or stakeholder relations, with the ability to work across industry, government, and academic groups.
- Track record of leadership in operations, general management, or a similar role, ideally in fintech, financial services, technology, or a purpose-driven organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort using data, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience in emerging markets, regulated sectors, or policy-oriented environments is an added advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative setting and lead distributed teams with integrity and inclusion.
