Role Summary

This is a full-time, remote leadership position responsible for directing the organization’s IT operations and ensuring technology services effectively enable business goals. The Vice President, Information Technology Operations will oversee the planning, deployment, and improvement of the company’s infrastructure, systems, and applications used across the enterprise.

The role includes stewardship of IT service management activities such as incident handling, problem resolution, and change control to support high availability, security, and strong system performance. It also involves leading internal teams and external vendors, setting and tracking service-level expectations, and continuously improving technology operations.

In addition, the position partners with senior leadership to shape technology strategy around business priorities, manage budgets and operational risks, and help meet cybersecurity and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall IT operations function and ensure technology services remain dependable and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the design, rollout, and ongoing optimization of IT infrastructure, platforms, and business applications.
  • Manage IT service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Maintain strong service availability, security controls, and operational performance across systems.
  • Supervise IT teams and coordinate effectively with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Define service-level agreements and monitor delivery against agreed standards.
  • Drive operational improvements and identify opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Work with executive stakeholders to align technology plans with company strategy and business needs.
  • Support budgeting, risk oversight, governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Deep expertise in IT operations and IT service management, with the ability to build and refine processes for dependable, secure, and efficient delivery.
  • Solid leadership experience in information technology management, including oversight of teams, vendors, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong strategic planning ability, with a track record of converting business objectives into practical technology roadmaps and outcomes.
  • Significant experience in financial services or insurance technology settings, including awareness of regulatory and compliance demands.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with comfort working in a remote environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A master’s degree or professional certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, PMP, or CISSP would be an advantage.
  • Proven success in managing IT budgets, major projects, and change programs within a fast-growing organization.
