They are hiring a full-time Vice President of Event Management to support a consulting client. In this senior, high-visibility position, you will act as a trusted partner to business leaders and own the planning and delivery of major internal and external events across several business units. The role includes executive conferences, client-facing programs, and hybrid experiences, with a strong focus on quality, smooth operations, and careful budget management.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced corporate events professional who is comfortable working with executive stakeholders, handling complex programs, and shaping standout event experiences in a fast-moving, collaborative setting while being employed full time by AbelCine.
Core responsibilities
- Direct end-to-end planning and delivery of in-person and hybrid events, from the first request through final reporting.
- Work closely with client teams to advise on agendas, presentation development, speaker selection, and overall event approach.
- Juggle several complex projects at once while keeping competing deadlines and stakeholder priorities in balance.
- Create fresh event concepts and look for sponsorship and audience-engagement opportunities.
- Build and oversee budgets, negotiate vendor rates, find savings, reconcile costs, and complete post-event financial reviews.
- Coordinate with production and technology teams to produce engaging live and hybrid experiences.
- Use strong knowledge of event production and audiovisual needs to ensure flawless execution.
- Handle venue research, RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor performance management.
- Lead on-site logistics, staffing, and vendor coordination during event setup, live delivery, and wrap-up.
- Develop trusted relationships across client business units by advising on event planning, annual calendars, and budget planning.
Candidate profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a closely related area; equivalent professional experience is also acceptable.
- Professional certifications such as CMP, CMM, or similar event-industry credentials are advantageous.
- At least 7 years of experience planning and managing corporate events.
- Solid familiarity with venues and vendors in New York and across the United States.
- Background supporting senior executives and delivering high-profile events.
- Ability to build effective working relationships at every level of an organization.
- Practical experience using Cvent for event management and registration.
- Strong capability in budgeting, negotiation, project coordination, and organization.
- Experience producing both live in-person events and hybrid formats.
- Self-driven approach with sound judgment, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle several priorities at once without compromising quality.
- Willingness to travel when required to support events.
Physical and working conditions
This role may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking during meetings and event operations. It also involves lifting and carrying event materials weighing up to 25 pounds, regular use of a computer and standard office equipment, domestic travel as needed, and work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. You may also need to move through venues, conference spaces, and production areas during setup, live execution, and teardown, all while maintaining focus in a fast-paced environment.
Engagement details
This is a full-time, exempt role based on-site in Midtown, New York, NY. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is listed at $210,000 to $225,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
