The Opportunity
PadSplit is seeking a Vice President of Data & AI Strategy to shape how data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence contribute to company-wide outcomes. Reporting to the CTO, this leader will guide Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AI enablement, with a focus on using data and AI investments to strengthen member, host, and business performance. The role is intended to turn data into a lasting competitive edge while ensuring AI is used responsibly and ethically across the organization.
What We’re Looking For
We need a senior data and AI leader who has built and scaled unified data, analytics, and machine learning teams in complex environments. The right person combines deep technical knowledge with sound business judgment, helping leadership make better decisions while identifying practical AI opportunities that create measurable results. They should be an influential executive who can balance innovation, governance, ethics, and delivery while building strong teams around a common direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the company-wide AI strategy, including adoption targets, enablement efforts, governance structures, and ways to measure business impact.
- Lead the Business Intelligence, Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI enablement groups as one cohesive data organization.
- Own prioritization and oversight of predictive and machine learning initiatives such as pricing optimization, risk forecasting, search relevance, and future AI-driven products.
- Be accountable for the performance, scale, quality, cost efficiency, and governance of the modern data environment.
- Work with Legal and executive stakeholders to define responsible AI standards that protect members, hosts, and the business.
- Partner closely with Product, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience to identify and deliver high-value data and AI solutions.
- Turn complex analytical findings, predictive insights, and AI opportunities into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
- Evaluate new AI and machine learning technologies to find ways to improve efficiency, decision-making, customer outcomes, and overall business performance.
What You’ll Need
- At least 10 years of experience leading data, analytics, machine learning, or AI functions, including significant exposure to managing managers and growing teams.
- Proven ability to lead both analytics and machine learning groups, not just one specialty area.
- Strong history of deploying AI solutions at organizational scale and measuring real business results.
- Deep familiarity with modern data platforms, analytics ecosystems, machine learning workflows, and AI technologies.
- Clear understanding of responsible AI, governance frameworks, bias reduction, and customer-impact risks.
- Ability to influence executives, present to boards, challenge assumptions, and simplify technical ideas for business audiences.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to create business value through data.
- Hands-on understanding of data quality, governance, scalability, security, and cost optimization in modern platforms.
Interview Process
- Initial application review by the hiring manager for potential next steps.
- If selected, a 30-minute phone conversation with a member of the PeopleOps team.
- If applicable, a 1-hour video interview with the CTO.
- If applicable, a 1-hour video panel interview with members of the leadership team.
- If applicable, a 2-hour video panel interview with key stakeholders at PadSplit.
- The panel stage includes a data assessment so you can demonstrate your data and AI capabilities to the group for discussion.
- If applicable, a final interview with the CEO.
- If all goes well, an offer will be extended.
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
- This is a fully remote position.
- Competitive pay package with an equity incentive plan and a company-wide bonus opportunity.
- National medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Company-paid life insurance.
- Optional accidental insurance, FSA, and DCFSA benefits.
- Unlimited PTO policy plus 11 company-observed holidays.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- 12 weeks of paid leave for both birth and non-birth parents.
- Opportunity to contribute to a mission focused on addressing the affordable housing crisis.
Important Notes
Although Atlanta, Georgia is listed as the location, the role is fully remote. The location is tied to the posting system rather than a physical worksite.
