Role overview

This position supports ID card operations for U.S. Army personnel, retirees, family members, dependents, and Department of the Army civilians. The role centers on verifying eligibility, maintaining records, and issuing military identification cards and Common Access Cards (CAC) with a strong focus on accuracy and customer service.

The employer is an international provider with certifications including ISO 9001/20000/27001 and CMMI Level 3, backed by more than 38 years of experience across federal, military, and commercial environments.

Key duties

  • Manage the control, verification, and issuance of identification cards, ID tags, and Geneva Convention Cards for military personnel and other eligible recipients.
  • Screen service members, families, and dependents to determine the purpose of their visit.
  • Explain relevant policies and procedures to soldiers and family members.
  • Maintain records in DEERS and RAPIDS.
  • Complete all ID card and CAC processing tasks, including document review, eligibility verification, and entitlement discussion in line with applicable guidance and training materials.
  • Issue authorization memorandums for commissary and post exchange access, along with government ID cards for eligible government employees.
  • Carry out basic upkeep on printers and computers, such as replacing ribbons, adding toner or developer, and cleaning equipment.
  • Prepare correspondence in the required format and produce weekly and monthly activity reports.

Required qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a human resources-related role.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and security investigation.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service ability.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and Internet Explorer 7 or later.
  • Comfort using standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
  • Must complete RAPIDS certification within 7 business days of hire.
  • Typing speed of 25 words per minute.
  • Prior CAC or comparable government contract experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with military environments is an advantage.
  • SOFA status is mandatory.

Work schedule and environment

Operating hours vary by site, but most locations are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. local time.

Physical requirements

The job involves regular use of hands for handling and feeling objects, reaching, speaking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role requires lifting up to 10 pounds and working with close, distant, peripheral, and depth vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
