(USA) Cake Decorator

Role overview

As a Cake Decorator, you’ll help create a great member experience in the bakery by producing decorated cakes and bakery items with consistency, speed, and care. You’ll work with other team members to help the club meet customer expectations while keeping quality, freshness, and presentation standards high.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with coworkers across functions, share know-how, and support customer service through clear communication, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Maintain stocked product levels while helping reduce shrink and keeping bakery operations running smoothly.
• Plan bakery production and ensure decorated items are accurate, consistent, and aligned with recipes and measurement instructions.
• Use decorating bags, tips, nozzles, and related tools to create flowers, lettering, and other decorative finishes on bakery products.
• Follow food safety rules, sanitation practices, cold-chain requirements, inventory controls, and equipment cleaning/sanitizing standards.
• Use handheld and digital tools to support sales, improve the shopping experience, and make timely decisions about production, ordering, training, and product quality.
• Help manage bakery performance by keeping an eye on quality, date control, waste reduction, and readiness for busy seasonal periods such as holidays, graduations, and family celebrations.
• Assist members with buying decisions and help resolve questions, needs, or concerns in the bakery area.
• Act as a positive representative of the brand by delivering quality service and products, supporting associates, and helping train, develop, and motivate others.
• Follow company policies, procedures, ethics, integrity standards, and the Open Door Policy while completing assigned work, prioritizing tasks, and adapting to change and feedback.
• Contribute to a culture that respects individual differences, builds teamwork, supports accountability, and pursues continuous improvement.

Pay and benefits

The hourly pay range for this role is $19.00 to $27.00. In some situations, additional premium pay may be available, ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour, depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a fresh production area.
• You must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred experience

• Experience with cake decorating is preferred.
