US Sourcing Specialist

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and well-organized freelance sourcing and export logistics professional to work from the Greater Houston area. The main focus of the role is to source premium fire and life safety products from manufacturers in the United States and manage their tax-exempt export shipments to Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Find and develop strong working relationships with US suppliers of fire suppression systems, alarm systems, PPE, and related life safety products.
• Handle procurement discussions and negotiate pricing while ensuring that all items align with Saudi Arabian import rules and industry specifications.
• Arrange export movement through Houston-based freight forwarders, covering both ocean freight and air freight as needed.
• Make sure purchases qualify for the Texas Sales Tax Export Exemption by obtaining the required bills of lading and freight forwarder receipts.
• Prepare and coordinate export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

Requirements

• Must be based in Houston, TX, or close enough to handle supplier visits or local pickup work when necessary.
• Background in procurement, supply chain, or export logistics is required; experience with Middle East shipments is a strong advantage.
• Working knowledge of the Texas Sales Tax Export Exemption and the paperwork needed to support it is important.
• Prior exposure to industrial safety products or the oil and gas supply chain is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation ability and careful attention to international shipping documentation are essential.
