Role Summary
As part of the UQ Temps casual talent pool, you may support different teams across the university with administrative and operational tasks. The work can change from assignment to assignment and is typically varied, dynamic, and paced to suit the needs of the team you join.
Key Duties
- Coordinating calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Helping prepare agendas, supporting committees, and recording meeting minutes
- Keeping administrative systems up to date and handling multiple priorities

- Communicating professionally with internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Profile
The university is seeking adaptable, motivated professionals who can step into different assignments with confidence. You should be comfortable working across teams, managing sensitive information discreetly, and staying organised in a busy environment.
Mandatory Requirements
- You must keep valid, unrestricted work rights in Australia while employed by UQ. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Final candidates may be asked to complete a criminal history check. Having a record does not automatically disqualify an applicant; each case will be considered individually.
Application Documents
- A cover letter that addresses the candidate profile, notes your preferred campus location, and indicates the type of role you want
- A resume
Additional Information
Applications will be assessed as they are received, and interviews may take place before the closing date. The university may close the process early if suitable candidates are identified. If you need an alternative way to apply because of accessibility needs or personal circumstances, you may contact the university’s talent team. The institution also encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, including First Nations peoples, and notes that candidates who do not meet every criterion are still welcome to apply and show their potential.
Benefits
Working through UQ Temps provides access to internal opportunities, a faster way to understand the university’s operations, and networking with people across the organisation. Additional staff benefits may include vaccination programs, an employee assistance program, and a fitness passport.
Pay and Locations
Casual assignments are paid at a minimum of AUD 51 to AUD 67 per hour plus superannuation. Available locations include St Lucia Campus, Herston Campus, and Dutton Park Campus.
