Role overview

Silver Star Protection Group is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Guard for its East Dubuque, Illinois assignment. The post is based at 122 Sinsinawa Ave, East Dubuque, IL 61025. The work schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with two shift options available: 6:30 am to 2:30 pm or 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm. You may choose the shift pattern that best suits your availability.

What the role involves

This position is responsible for delivering security coverage at client locations during assigned shifts. Site assignments, working hours, and schedules may change depending on client requirements, staffing gaps, call-offs, or contract updates. Although the company aims to respect preferred schedules, the role requires a high level of flexibility.

• Deliver security coverage at assigned client sites and help protect people, property, and assets.
• Be prepared to work different shifts and locations as operational needs change.
• Interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to support a safe and positive environment.
• Carry out routine patrols and keep an eye on surveillance systems while following site-specific security procedures.
• Record incidents, security concerns, and unusual activity accurately, then report them to the relevant contact for review and action.
• Take on other duties assigned by the Silver Star leadership team.

Schedule and availability

Employees are expected to work the shifts assigned at their designated client sites. Since coverage needs can change, schedules and site placements may be adjusted by SSPG when necessary. The company may also require additional support, including on-call or emergency coverage, when business needs demand it.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication and practical problem-solving ability.
• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• An active PERC license is mandatory.
• Prior experience in unarmed security or a similar role is preferred.
• Good situational awareness and careful attention to detail.
• Clear communication style and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.
• Ability to respond promptly and effectively during emergencies.
