Job description

About Genero

Genero is a worldwide creative platform that brings together marketers and independent creative specialists on demand. The company works with major brands including L’Oréal, Hilton, the BBC, P&G, and Nestlé to create strong, platform-ready content quickly and at scale.

Role Overview

This is a fixed-term UI / Digital Designer assignment for 2 months, with a real chance of extension. The role is remote and based in Australia. The brand is currently being refreshed, and while the overall direction is already set, there is still room to refine the edges and shape how the brand can evolve across touchpoints.

The right person will be comfortable handling several priorities at once, collaborating closely with the Senior UX/UI Designer, taking direction well, and also speaking up when an idea needs to be challenged or improved.

What You’ll Work On

  • Expanding and refining the design system
  • Developing brand guidelines for broader team use
  • Creating internal assets such as Google Slides and Google Docs templates
  • Designing email marketing templates
  • Producing paid social and display advertising creative
  • Creating templates for organic social content
  • Designing stationery and business materials such as business cards, letterheads, and email signatures
  • Supporting additional related design work as needed

Additional Strengths That Would Help

Experience with motion graphics, icon design, or illustration would be a strong advantage, although it is not mandatory.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience and the ability to work independently
  • Advanced Figma skills, including deep knowledge of auto-layout, prototyping, components, and variables
  • A mindset focused on scalable systems, not just attractive visuals
  • Comfort working across many formats, from presentation decks to social ads to Figma-based design work
  • Prior experience with brand refreshes or rebrands is beneficial but not essential
  • Comfort with a fast-moving, fixed-term engagement where the aim is to leave behind a self-sufficient system the team can continue using
  • Strong UX judgement and an instinct for what works well from a user perspective across different formats and audiences

How the Role Will Be Managed

You’ll begin with a brief morning check-in to share progress and flag any blockers. Beyond that, you’ll be trusted to manage your own time while working closely with the Senior UX/UI Designer.

Hiring Process

The selection process will include a portfolio review, a discussion, and a detailed walkthrough of several portfolio pieces. Both polished outcomes and the working Figma files will be reviewed so the team can understand your thinking and workflow, not just the final output.

Logistics

Local candidates or those in the same timezone are preferred. This is a 2-month fixed-term contract, with a genuine possibility of shifting into an ongoing arrangement if the match works well for both sides.

Application Note

Applicants should submit a portfolio and a short cover letter explaining their current work situation and preferred way of working. The team is looking for a genuine, human response rather than an AI-generated one.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
