RCS Logistics Inc. is an international logistics company focused on airfreight forwarding and end-to-end business solutions tailored to a broad mix of industries at competitive pricing. With its headquarters and regional offices across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, and affiliates in over 100 countries, the company supports global trade through a wide service network. Its customer base spans telecommunications, electronics, technology, automotive, healthcare, and retail categories such as apparel, accessories, footwear, and pharmaceuticals.

The organization provides air, ocean, and land freight forwarding, supply chain management, 3PL, trucking transportation, container freight station operations, distribution, customs brokerage, and specialized GOH and value-added services.

Role Overview

This full-time Transportation Specialist position is based in Columbus, OH (CMH) within the Warehouse / Shipping / Receiving department. The role reports to the General Manager of Columbus, OH and is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can contribute to the growth of one of the company’s expanding global offices.

The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. The stated salary range is $55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

What You Will Do

You will provide day-to-day operational support for shipping and warehouse teams, help resolve logistics issues, and keep transportation activity running smoothly. The role includes scheduling trucking appointments, coordinating CFS pickups, addressing operational slowdowns at airports and warehouses, handling domestic trucking concerns, and analyzing root causes behind operational problems.

You will also monitor data quality for the CMH transportation office, work alongside CFS and warehousing teams to support KPI and billing performance, and prepare summary updates for the General Manager. In addition, you will act as a CargoWise expert, improving system use, supporting automation, and assisting teammates with platform knowledge.

Another key part of the job is ensuring billing accuracy and timeliness for the CMH Transportation office. This includes reviewing invoices, helping maintain accounts in good standing, and proactively resolving billing or document-related issues.

Customer Service and Documentation

In this role, you will receive, review, and process inbound and outbound shipping and warehouse documents for both domestic and international movements. These may include Air Waybills, Ocean BOLs, manifests, customs paperwork, commercial documents, dangerous goods documentation, storage records, leasing records, and passthrough documents.

You will serve as a key contact for transportation and warehousing matters related to air, ocean, and road freight, while keeping internal and external stakeholders informed with accurate inventory updates. The role also involves managing delivery and pickup appointments, coordinating directly with internal teams and outside customers, and arranging subcontracted deliveries when needed.

Additional duties include warehouse lease billing, passthrough documentation, inventory reporting, inbound and outbound shipment logs, trailer lease management, and FARO system entries. You are expected to communicate clearly, provide strong customer support, work with customer service representatives to meet US Customs obligations, and help ensure all internal and external KPIs are achieved.

Process, Compliance, and Additional Duties

You will help maintain shipping, receiving, and warehousing SOPs while looking for ways to improve and streamline processes. The job also requires reviewing and processing paperwork exchanged with trucking providers, drivers, and RCS offices worldwide, including Ocean BOLs, Air Waybills, manifests, AMS/ISF, and US Customs-related documentation.

Other responsibilities include coordinating and auditing releases from the CFS with the assigned customer service representative, supporting accurate and timely customer billing, helping Key Account Management and Sales with accounts receivable concerns, preparing required documentation, and taking on other assigned tasks as needed. As part of the role, you must follow company policies, procedures, work schedules, and the Code of Conduct.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualified candidates should bring at least 3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or warehouse operations, with preference for those who have worked in freight forwarding or carrier environments. Direct experience with CargoWise is required.

You should have a solid understanding of US Customs compliance rules related to importing, exporting, and air freight transfers, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well with others across the organization. The role also calls for strong personal accountability and a keen eye for detail.

An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred, though equivalent industry experience is also acceptable.

Schedule and Work Arrangement

This is an onsite position in Columbus, OH with a Tuesday to Saturday schedule.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 per year, based on experience.
