What the job involves

The courier service covers the delivery and collection of mail, specimens, vaccines, medical records, and, from time to time, medical gases. The work also includes sorting and transporting sundry items and specimens to and from healthcare sites throughout Dorset, as well as major acute trusts including Salisbury, Royal Bournemouth, Poole, and Southampton.

Working pattern

Two positions are available:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 19:00 pm
  • Part-time: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 15:00 pm

Key expectations

The successful applicant will work independently without close supervision and will be expected to maintain a consistently effective and efficient service. A professional approach and a positive public image are important throughout the role.

Values and culture

The Trust places high importance on Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, and Excellence, and looks for team members who reflect these values in their work and conduct.
