About the Role
FUSE METAL, which operates as part of King Retail Solutions, is a custom metal fabrication workshop focused on sheet metal fabrication and finishing. The team is hiring an experienced TIG/MIG Welder/Fabricator to build metal assemblies and weldments while completing layout, cutting, welding, drilling, and related machining work within required timelines and company quality standards.
The usual production shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. During peak workload periods, longer shifts and Saturday work may be needed. Preference is given to candidates who can also work swing shift hours from 3:30pm to 11:00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and assemble metal components according to shop details using fabrication equipment such as an iron worker, cold saw, oxy-fuel torch, plasma cutter, and welding systems including MIG, SMAW, TIG, and dual shield.
- Shape and form metal pieces with a press brake.
- Review shop drawings and interpret dimensions, angles, tolerances, and finish specifications accurately.
- Coordinate with the project lead to meet output targets, reduce material waste, improve efficiency, and complete work according to the shop scheduling system.
- Maintain safe work practices, prevent accidents and injuries, and keep the work area free from hazards.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently while also following direction and written instructions.
- Comfort using metal fabrication and cutting equipment safely and correctly.
- Capability to produce structurally sound and visually clean welds.
- Good command of measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work while standing on a concrete floor.
