The organisation is also recognised for bringing evidence-based innovation into Australian healthcare to improve patient services and outcomes.

Epworth is committed to building a workplace where inclusion, cultural safety, and respect are part of everyday practice. The team values difference, supports equitable treatment, and aims to ensure people feel a true sense of belonging.

Guided by strong values and purpose, Epworth focuses on delivering care in a genuine and meaningful way, with “Every Patient Matters” at the centre of its approach.

Role Overview

Epworth Geelong in Waurn Ponds is looking for skilled Theatre Technicians to join its Perioperative Team. This opportunity is open across full-time, part-time, and casual arrangements, with the information below reflecting the full-time role requested here. The hospital has recently expanded its theatre facilities, offering a chance to contribute to a growing and modern operating environment.

The role suits someone who enjoys a flexible workplace, values work-life balance, and wants development opportunities, salary packaging, and access to staff benefits.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting clinicians and other team members with patient preparation.
  • Setting up, checking, and maintaining operating suite equipment.
  • Helping move patients safely within the theatre area and during transfers between departments.
  • Working with awareness and respect in a culturally diverse environment.

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is part of a team focused on safety and outstanding patient experience. You should communicate clearly, show empathy and compassion, work professionally, pay close attention to detail, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications and Experience

You will need Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, specialising in Operating Theatre Technician, or a higher qualification. A solid understanding of medical terminology, practical capability to meet the technical demands of the position, and knowledge of safe work practices are important. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are also expected.

Additional Information

  • Access to the largest educational scholarship program of its kind in Australia.
  • The option to purchase up to four extra weeks of leave.
  • Reduced-cost health services for you and your family through Epworth.
  • Relocation support for approved candidates.

The annual salary for Theatre Technicians is AUD $59,718 to $73,037 plus superannuation and entitlements, depending on year level, and this is prorated for part-time staff.
