Job description
Role overview
This position calls for a motivated, commercially focused field sales professional to take ownership of the Howard Wright patient trolley range across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The job centers on building strong customer relationships, delivering product demonstrations, and securing new business that supports better patient care.
The role is home-based, but it is primarily field-oriented, so most working days will be spent travelling and meeting customers rather than working from a desk. It will suit someone who performs best in a hands-on sales environment and enjoys being out in front of clients.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for expanding business across HSE- and HSC-funded hospitals as well as private healthcare providers. The portfolio includes Howard Wright emergency, ward, and patient transport stretchers, and the role covers the full sales journey from prospecting and clinical demonstrations through tender submission, order placement, and post-sale follow-up.
Relationship management is an important part of the role, with regular engagement across clinical teams, procurement contacts, and estates personnel throughout the territory. You will also need to maintain reliable forecasting, keep CRM records up to date, and plan territory activity effectively.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring proven field sales experience and be confident managing a territory, working independently, and consistently delivering against targets. Experience selling medical or healthcare products is preferred, though not mandatory, and a background in capital equipment sales would be especially valuable.
Previous relationships within HSE or HSC procurement, or with acute hospital environments in Ireland, would be an advantage. You should also have strong commercial judgement, the ability to handle long and complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders, a full clean driving licence, and the willingness to travel widely across the island. A self-driven approach is essential, as the role involves building territory presence from the ground up.
Benefits
The package includes a competitive base salary, a sales target bonus, and a company van. The position offers genuine autonomy, with the flexibility of working from home while developing the territory in your own way. You will also receive full product training along with ongoing clinical and commercial support.
Additional information
This is a full-time, onsite field sales role based from home, with extensive travel required across Ireland. The company supplies a market-leading patient trolley range that is trusted by NHS and international healthcare systems.
