Job description
About the Role
Ardex Technology is developing modern software for the equine sector. Its platform supports the professionals who keep the industry moving — including trainers, breeders, agistment farms, veterinarians, service providers, auctioneers and other equine businesses — by streamlining horse and owner management, workflows, billing, invoicing and finance-related processes.
The business is hiring a Technical Business Analyst to join the Product Team and work closely with the Product Manager while EPONA and the broader Ardex platform continue to grow in Australia and internationally.
This is a practical, hands-on product position within a small and fast-paced software company. The successful candidate will translate business objectives, customer input and product concepts into precise requirements that developers can implement and testers can verify.
What the Role Involves
You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution shaping, product documentation, backlog upkeep, testing support, release notes, customer feedback handling and internal training. At times you will be working through technical detail; at other times you may be helping resolve a post-release issue or assisting with client training.
Working Style and Role Fit
This position is suited to someone who enjoys variety, ownership and an environment where priorities change quickly. It is not intended for someone seeking a narrow business analyst role in a slow-moving corporate setting.
We are looking for someone who is structured and analytical, pays close attention to detail, writes clear business, functional and non-functional requirements, and is comfortable questioning gaps, assumptions and incomplete ideas. The right person should also be confident preparing epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, collaborating with product, engineering, architecture, customer service and clients, and handling UAT, regression testing, bug triage and release communication.
Familiarity with agile delivery, Jira and design tools such as Figma will be useful. An interest in financial, accounting or workflow-intensive software would be a strong advantage.
Experience and Attributes
We are seeking a candidate with 2–3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or comparable role, ideally within a B2B SaaS or technology environment. Strong documentation capability, excellent written and verbal communication, a high level of accuracy, and a collaborative, practical approach are all important. A good sense of humour and genuine enthusiasm for building strong software are also valued.
Additional Information
This opportunity comes with a competitive package, career progression and the potential for meaningful future growth.
Eligibility
Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
