Position Overview
As a Technical Authority - Structural, you will provide senior-level technical leadership, governance, and assurance for our FPSO and offshore asset portfolio. You will serve as the guardian of naval architecture standards, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient structural design and operational execution throughout the life cycle of assets, while also guiding the evolution of the structural discipline within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously enhance corporate structural technical standards, setting mandatory requirements for projects and operations.
- Offer expert structural engineering advice to project teams, operational units, and the broader technical community.
- Lead verification and assurance activities to confirm adherence to company standards, classification society rules, and regulations.
- Review and authorize technical deviations, engineering methodologies, tools, and essential discipline deliverables.
- Serve as the chief technical liaison with classification societies, regulatory bodies, and industry organizations.
- Incorporate lessons learned from projects and operations to promote ongoing improvement.
- Mentor and foster the growth of Structural Engineers throughout the company.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to develop integrated and optimized solutions.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience within offshore Oil & Gas or a comparable sector, specifically working with floating production installations.
- Comprehensive exposure to both project execution and operational management phases of offshore platforms, with an emphasis on FPSOs.
- Previous roles held as Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, Technical Authority, or Subject Matter Expert.
- Proven capability to perform effectively in multidisciplinary and diverse international teams.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree accompanied by significant relevant experience will also be considered.
Skills
- Expertise in structural, construction, and materials engineering principles.
- Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ABS, DNV, API, AISC, NORSOK, ISO, and EC.
- Experience with structural analysis tools including SACS, SASAM Genie, STAADPRO, and similar software.
- In-depth understanding of technical, contractual, and commercial perspectives involved in FPSO design, build, and operation.
