Job description

About the Business

Adani Group is an Indian diversified conglomerate with 10 publicly listed companies and a nationwide footprint in logistics and utilities infrastructure. Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the group has built a strong position in large-scale infrastructure development, backed by operations and maintenance standards aligned with global benchmarks. It includes four businesses rated IG, making it the only infrastructure investment grade issuer in India.

AEL Corporate Services manages key centralized functions for the Adani Group, including finance, insurance, and secretarial support across business units. By bringing these services together at a group level, it drives consistency, control, governance, and efficiency while supporting risk management, compliance, and long-term value creation.

Job Purpose

The role supports the day-to-day execution of insurance operations across the group. It covers asset and liability insurance, renewals, proposal management, claims coordination, and documentation control. The position works closely with business teams and insurers to maintain appropriate coverage, meet compliance requirements, and reduce risk across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect detailed information from business units on new ventures, acquisitions, assets, liabilities, and operating risks to determine insurance needs.
  • Identify insurable exposures for newly acquired assets and coordinate with local insurers to secure proper coverage.
  • Partner with business, finance, and technical teams to capture correct asset data and coverage requirements.
  • Track all newly insured assets so that every venture remains appropriately protected.
  • Run the annual renewal cycle for assets and liabilities, working with relevant teams to confirm sums insured and capture changes in asset values.
  • Review the Fixed Asset Register and make sure all assets are included in the renewal exercise.
  • Approach the market for renewal quotations, negotiate with insurers and reinsurers, and work toward favorable premium and coverage terms.
  • Monitor insurance market movement, pricing trends, and coverage shifts that could influence renewals.
  • Complete renewal documentation accurately and on time to avoid any break in cover.
  • Prepare and circulate RFPs for insurance lines such as property, fire, and project cover, ensuring the requirements are clearly stated.
  • Manage the full RFP cycle from drafting to market release, response handling, and evaluation.
  • Work with technical teams to include asset information and risk assessments in proposal documents.
  • Handle the full NFA process, including final recommendation preparation from quote comparison reports, internal approvals, and system upload.
  • Arrange the Direct Payment Request after finalization and forward it to the ABEX team for payment processing.
  • Ensure claims are reported quickly, supported with the required documentation, and submitted to insurers without delay.
  • Coordinate directly with surveyors and loss adjusters to assess damage and quantify claim amounts.
  • Follow up with insurers so claims are settled promptly in line with policy terms.
  • Keep policy records current, accurate, and available to the right stakeholders.
  • Digitize policy and claims files and maintain them in a central, accessible repository.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with local insurers to access competitive terms and quotations.
  • Meet insurers regularly to discuss limits, capacity, pricing, and emerging risk considerations.
  • Update the Team Lead Insurance on market trends, pricing changes, and underwriting developments.
  • Standardize insurance workflows across the organization for consistency in procurement, claims reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Implement common insurance forms and processes to improve compliance and operating efficiency across business units.
  • Work with internal experts and business teams to communicate risk details clearly to insurers.
  • Review policy wording to confirm that final terms match agreed coverage and do not introduce adverse exclusions or restrictions.
  • Ensure all insurance contracts and endorsements are finalized and stored in the centralized company system.
  • Prepare compliance-related reports, including insurance certificates and auditor documentation for statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure insurance arrangements align with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Track emerging risks across the group and keep the Team Lead Insurance informed.
  • Help establish a third-party risk framework so vendors, suppliers, and contractors carry suitable liability insurance.
  • Work with business units to keep the insurance portfolio aligned with changes in operational risk.
  • Coordinate with finance to confirm sums insured and address premium payment and claim-related financial matters.
  • Support legal teams in interpreting policy language and validating contract terms.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve claim discrepancies and improve recovery outcomes.
