About the role

This position is based onsite in Bradford, Ontario and is a permanent full-time opportunity. The schedule is 40 hours per week, and the pay is $19.25 CAD per hour.

Role summary

The Facilities Sanitation team member is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic workplace. The role supports a facility environment where employees, visitors, and clients can work in sanitary conditions.

Key duties

  • Carry out regular cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing.
  • Collect waste from bins and dispose of it according to proper procedures.
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, kitchen spaces, and shared areas to support hygiene.
  • Use suitable cleaning products to sanitize high-touch points, including handles, doorknobs, and common surfaces.
  • Keep floors in good condition by spot-cleaning and responding quickly to spills.
  • Track cleaning materials and replenish supplies, toiletries, and other essentials as needed.
  • Escalate repair or maintenance concerns to the appropriate team.
  • Follow all safety rules and sanitation procedures while performing duties.
  • Take on additional deep-cleaning or special cleaning assignments such as carpet care and window cleaning.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain the facility’s cleanliness and hygiene standards consistently.
  • Use cleaning products and equipment efficiently and responsibly.

Skills and abilities

  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, procedures, and chemical safety.
  • Strong focus on detail and thoroughness.
  • Good time management to complete tasks within required timeframes.
  • Basic communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating work.

Education and experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience in janitorial or cleaning work is an asset. Familiarity with sanitation and safety standards, the ability to use cleaning equipment, physical stamina, and the capacity to lift heavy items are also important.

Additional information

This position is within one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified facilities and involves direct work around products. Near the end of the hiring process, candidates must complete a medical screening exam through a third-party vendor.
