Role Summary

The Talent Acquisition Assistant Manager will help drive talent acquisition success across the property by supporting recruitment strategy, coaching hiring managers on the hiring process, and managing full-cycle recruitment through the department head level.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative recruitment approaches that support the talent acquisition roadmap and help attract qualified, diverse candidates for current and future openings.
  • Use the right mix of internal and external channels such as referrals, online sourcing, multimedia ads, social media, job fairs, university events, networking, community partnerships, and third-party support.
  • Build productive relationships with universities and colleges.
  • Manage end-to-end hiring for strong candidates, including sourcing, screening, interviews, feedback, recommendations, offer discussions, and support through acceptance and planning committee stages.
  • Serve as the lead recruiter for critical and confidential leadership roles.
  • Maintain organized and accurate candidate pipeline records and recruitment activity tracking in Workday.
  • Deliver a strong candidate experience during interviewing, offer, and onboarding stages.
  • Gather feedback from candidates and interviewers and use it to improve the recruiting process.
  • Work closely with business leaders, HR leaders, hiring managers, and the talent acquisition team to assess staffing needs and create cost-effective hiring plans that reduce time-to-fill and improve retention and fit.
  • Monitor team performance and coach weekly to ensure key recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, are met.
  • Advise hiring managers on internal mobility, external hiring, policy compliance, and local employment law requirements.
  • Recommend and oversee local third-party vendors, headhunters, and job boards.
  • Ensure the staffing guide is accurate and aligned with the annual budget.
  • Track and report talent pool KPIs such as throughput, candidate experience, and successful hires.
  • Assess future hiring needs through proactive people planning and build recruitment strategies to meet business goals.
  • Handle TA reporting and create dashboard insights that help leaders understand the talent acquisition picture.
  • Support employer branding efforts and look for new, effective industry practices in recruiting, interviewing, and sourcing.
  • Use internal communication channels to promote careers and internal employee movement.
  • Act as a counsellor to employees or managers on training and development needs and help facilitate growth where possible.
  • Conduct hotel tours for student groups in a way that matches the property’s atmosphere and style.
  • Support general People and Culture activities, including correspondence, recruitment and selection of placement and work-experience students, exit interviews, and social event coordination.
  • Take on project work assigned by the Director of People and Culture or General Manager.
  • Perform other related duties that fall within the overall scope of the role, even if outside the day-to-day routine.
  • Participate in hotel management duties as needed.
