Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement ETL and data integration solutions utilizing Talend Open Studio or Talend Data Management Platform.
  • Create and maintain Talend jobs, workflows, reusable routines, and components to handle data integration tasks effectively.
  • Execute extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various source systems, ensuring accurate data movement.
  • Facilitate data integration across heterogeneous environments including databases, APIs, flat files, ERP, CRM systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues, optimizing Talend jobs for scalability and reliability.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation procedures, and robust error-handling strategies to ensure data accuracy.
  • Participate actively in data migration projects and data warehousing efforts, contributing technical expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to accurately gather and understand requirements.
  • Adhere to data governance policies, security standards, and follow best industry practices.
  • Provide support for production deployments, troubleshoot incidents, and fine-tune performance as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Talend ETL tools including Talend Data Integration platforms.
  • Strong command over SQL and various relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and ETL best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Talend components, contexts, reusable routines, job orchestration, and job scheduling features.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting to automate and manage processes.
  • Familiarity with data modeling principles and concepts to support database design.
  • Excellent problem-solving aptitude with strong debugging skills.
  • Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git, for source code management.
