About the Organisation
Bureau Veritas, established in 1828, is a global provider of testing, inspection, and certification services. The organisation plays a key part in upholding quality, safety, and environmental standards across products, commodities, systems, buildings, infrastructure, and projects. In the Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand, it has been operating for more than 70 years and now employs over 2,800 people across 50 offices and laboratories.
About the Infrastructure Team
The Infrastructure division supports the delivery of large and complex assets that contribute to economic development and community wellbeing. It provides strategic, commercial, and technical guidance to help deliver successful infrastructure outcomes.
The Opportunity
The business is expanding its infrastructure delivery capability across New South Wales and is hiring two experienced Surveillance Officers for upcoming transport projects in regional NSW. The role will support civil, bridge, and road works, with a particular focus on strengthening delivery across regional centres such as Wagga Wagga and Albury.
Candidates based in the Riverina, Murray region, or elsewhere in NSW are encouraged to apply if they bring strong infrastructure experience, a focus on quality, and a commitment to delivering high standards on essential transport projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out onsite checks of works, contractor quality systems, and other field activities for allocated projects.
- Keep accurate site records, including written notes and photographs, to confirm progress and workmanship quality.
- Provide immediate feedback to the project team and stakeholders when construction issues arise.
- Work closely with Project Engineers, Managers, and Directors while taking ownership of day-to-day surveillance for assigned project components.
About You
- You should have substantial experience in technical surveillance or quality assurance within construction or engineering, with a proven ability to monitor and verify site activities.
- Experience on Transport for NSW or local government projects in New South Wales, especially in civil, bridge, and road infrastructure, will be viewed very favourably.
- You must be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, Australian Standards, and construction records.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management abilities are essential, along with the capacity to work well in a collaborative, high-performing team.
How We Support Our People
The position comes with a competitive salary and the chance to grow within a leading global organisation. Additional benefits include cultural leave, training and development opportunities, access to a discounted health and wellbeing platform, an employee assistance program supported by Lifework’s, discounted health insurance with Bupa, access to an employee retail discounts portal, and salary sacrifice for superannuation.
Career Growth and Culture
This is a role that offers more than just experience on a resume. It provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, gain recognition, and build a career with training and development that may open pathways across the wider Bureau Veritas network. The organisation also highlights its supportive, close-knit team environment and commitment to helping employees develop new skills.
