Role overview

Creative Support is hiring a Support Worker for its Jarrow, South Tyneside service. This is a full-time/part-time on-site role supporting adults with learning disabilities in their everyday routines and community life. It is a good opportunity for someone beginning a career in social care or looking to progress within a supportive, established team.

Pay and work pattern

The role pays £12.85 per hour. The position is based in Jarrow, South Tyneside, and the work pattern can be full-time or part-time.

What you will do

  • Support people with learning disabilities and non-verbal communication needs through positive behaviour support.
  • Encourage individuals to take part in a variety of enjoyable social activities, both at home and in the wider community.
  • Build caring, trusting relationships with service users and their families so they can get the most from the service.
  • Manage and keep track of prescribed medication for service users.

Experience and training

No prior care experience is needed. The employer is looking for someone who is engaging, creative, and focused on person-centred support. Full training is provided, along with the chance to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care. The organisation also offers a structured Development Pathway with induction and values-based training, designed to support progression from entry-level roles into leadership.
