Role overview
Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is hiring a Supply Chain Specialist to support its Supply Chain team in Stamford, CT. The position focuses on end-to-end order handling, operational analysis, and execution improvement, with an emphasis on standardizing processes, using data to guide decisions, and strengthening collaboration across functions. The role offers flexibility to work remotely and come into the Stamford headquarters as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete order journey from start to finish with a focus on speed, accuracy, scalability, and ownership of issue resolution.
- Prepare and coordinate all required paperwork for import and export logistics, working with internal and external stakeholders to keep processing timely and compliant.
- Handle freight claims follow-up by partnering with carriers, distributors, internal teams, and outside partners to close issues and reduce business disruption.
- Build, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures, RACI materials, and related process documentation to support consistency and alignment.
- Spot automation opportunities, including EDI and AI-based enhancements, and help reduce manual work while improving efficiency.
- Communicate with internal and external partners to provide updates, ensure follow-through, and escalate order, inventory, pricing, credit, or logistics issues when needed.
- Use exception-based reporting to prioritize work, identify shipping risks early, and take action to protect service levels.
- Review distributor inventory data to uncover trends, root causes, and risk areas, then work with distributors and Sales to shape ordering behavior and provide logistics support.
- Present monthly supply chain updates to Sales during BU calls, covering inventory health, orders, allocations, and other key planning insights.
- Study metrics, allocation information, and backorder hold reports, then drive timely release of orders to support targets and execution.
- Work with IT and cross-functional partners on system upgrades, AI projects, ERP improvements, reporting tools, UAT support, and continuous improvement efforts related to JDE/Fusion.
- Complete mid-month and month-end checks and follow through on credit holds, pricing holds, and other finance-related dependencies with Accounting, FP&A, and Pricing.
- Support sample orders, annual audit needs, team training, and backup coverage to maintain continuity across the Supply Chain function.
- Maintain compliance with allocation rules, internal controls, and regulatory requirements while helping deliver reliable and accurate supply chain execution.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or CPG; wine and spirits background is preferred.
- Working knowledge of core supply chain processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, EDI, AI, KPIs, and analytics.
- Strong analytical ability with the capacity to interpret data from multiple sources and turn it into practical recommendations.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a large workload and tight timelines without sacrificing accuracy.
- A self-directed, adaptable mindset with comfort in ambiguity, shifting priorities, and high-pressure situations.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with comfort using reporting and metrics to solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence partners and work well in a team setting.
Additional information
Work mode is hybrid/remote, with remote flexibility and occasional presence at the Stamford, CT headquarters as required.
