Role Overview
This position is suited to someone who is detail-focused, practical, outcome-oriented, and comfortable operating in a demanding, fast-moving environment. Strong communication and a solid work ethic are essential, along with the ability to make sure customer build needs are clearly understood, communicated, and acted on. The role also involves managing and carrying out established operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out procurement analysis and work closely with material planners on both demand planning and supply planning.
- Complete MRP-related analyses and prepare information needed for leadership approval while meeting SLA expectations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Review material requests in the MPR system and give management a clear view of inventory risks and open issues.
- Raise purchase orders promptly to keep operations and production moving.
- Develop productive supplier partnerships that support dependable supply, strong pricing, and good service levels.
- Track supplier delivery performance, product quality concerns, and stock levels to reduce production interruptions.
- Share accurate purchase order ETA updates, keep delivery timelines dependable, and help support production targets. Escalate shortages, delays, quality concerns, and supply disruptions when required.
- Work with vendors and warehouse teams to fix inventory and purchase order mismatches.
- Coordinate electronic and mechanical suppliers across North America and Asia, and remotely oversee BPO teams handling purchasing data entry.
- Own cost change activities and ensure pricing remains accurate and compliant.
- Evaluate inventory across its lifecycle, including active, aging, excess, and end-of-life categories, and handle excess inventory write-offs or scrap where needed.
- Take on other tasks and projects assigned by management.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in IT, manufacturing, supply chain, or operations, especially in purchasing, commodity management, demand management, or project management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals, including procurement, inventory control, demand forecasting, and logistics.
- Good analytical and organizational capability, with knowledge of important MRP and demand/supply inputs such as BOM changes, manufacturing cycle times, component lead times, transit times, and ETAs.
- Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and influencing stakeholders, along with strong communication skills for both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and juggle urgent issues and multiple priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, plus familiarity with other data analysis tools.
- Comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite.
