Role overview

This position is for an Accounts Administrator within the Subcontractor Department, supporting the Commercial and Finance teams with day-to-day account administration. The role helps keep subcontractor processes accurate, transparent, and running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Commercial, Procurement, and Finance teams to maintain subcontractor accounts.
  • Handle invoice processing on a daily basis and act as a link between QS/Site teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Site, GRN, and other departments to clear invoice issues and other related queries.
  • Communicate with suppliers about invoice questions and provide updates on subcontractor payment matters.
  • Process payments in line with group company procedures and Revenue guidelines.
  • Set up site project and sub-accounts through Revenue Online.
  • Carry out reconciliations for subcontractor statements and accounts.
  • Complete month-end reconciliations for creditors and subcontractor retentions.
  • Update UAT test scripts twice a year to support testing of processes and functionality on Microsoft 365.
  • Support annual external audits and internal audits when needed.

Candidate profile

  • Previous experience as an accounts assistant, with the confidence to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of standard accounting practices.
  • Understanding of Revenue requirements and Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT).
  • Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage changing daily workloads.
  • Good numerical accuracy and problem-solving ability.
  • Competence with MS Office, data entry, and preferably Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
