Role overview
Uber Advertising is seeking a data-oriented strategist to join its Strategy & Planning function. The position focuses on turning complex information into reliable systems, clear standards, and practical tools that help shape decisions across the advertising business.
You will work closely with teams across sales, operations, product, and finance to make sure monthly and quarterly business reviews are supported by accurate, easy-to-access, and actionable data. The role also supports the broader growth and evolution of Uber’s advertising organization through stronger reporting, better infrastructure, and sharper insights.
This opportunity is best suited to someone who enjoys working where analytics, business strategy, and data engineering overlap, and who can convert large datasets into meaningful business recommendations and scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that support monthly and quarterly business reviews, along with other key operational processes.
- Set up and uphold data definitions, KPI frameworks, and governance practices that improve consistency, reliability, and confidence in reporting.
- Work with engineering and analytics partners to create systems for efficient data collection, transformation, and availability for business use.
- Create documentation, learning materials, and frameworks that strengthen data understanding across the advertising organization.
- Partner with strategy leadership to connect insights to company objectives, investment choices, and go-to-market planning.
- Spot chances to automate reporting and analysis so teams can spend more time on strategic work.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in analytics, data science, data product management, or business strategy, preferably in a fast-growing technology or advertising setting.
- Working knowledge of SQL and at least one data visualization platform such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Solid understanding of business KPIs and the ability to convert business needs into technical requirements.
Preferred qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or analytics within high-growth or matrixed organizations.
- Experience using Python or a similar programming language.
- Background in advertising technology, media, or marketplace businesses.
- Proven ability to create scalable self-service data systems for non-technical users.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Good project management capabilities and comfort handling several priorities at once.
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL workflows, and cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake.
Compensation and benefits
For New York, NY-based roles, the base salary range is USD 106,000 to USD 118,000 per year. For Chicago, IL-based roles, the range is USD 95,500 to USD 106,250 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles, the range is USD 106,000 to USD 118,000 per year.
For all US locations, this role is eligible for Uber’s bonus program and may include an equity award and other compensation elements. Full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan and receive various benefits.
