Job description
About the Role
This role sits within a rapidly expanding AI insurtech company that is reinventing how insurance claims are managed. The business has already reached multi-seven-figure annual recurring revenue in less than a year, is growing at around 50% month over month, and recently secured a $50M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The company is looking for an experienced Strategy & Operations professional to help build the claims function from the ground up.
You will work closely with the CEO on high-priority initiatives and help establish the operating foundation for a business with the ambition to become a major category leader. The position offers early-stage ownership, exposure to core strategic decisions, and the opportunity to shape and eventually lead a business-critical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of special projects and strategic workstreams in direct partnership with the CEO.
- Set up and scale claims operations, including process creation, hiring support, and workflow design.
- Create repeatable, data-led operating processes that improve product and operational efficiency.
- Drive cross-functional problem-solving with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Move between multiple high-impact priorities, bringing order, clarity, and execution discipline to each one.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in MBB consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a strategic operations role at a high-performing startup.
- Strong analytical thinking with a highly structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Must be based in San Francisco or open to relocating there, with a 5-day in-office schedule.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly build trust with customers, teammates, and partners.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, uncertain, and high-pressure environments.
Why This Role Stands Out
- The company has shown strong traction, with multi-seven-figure ARR, rapid monthly growth, and a $50M Series A on top of a heavily oversubscribed seed round.
- The target market is large, with insurance representing a $280B industry.
- The team includes engineers and researchers with backgrounds from leading firms and institutions such as Optiver, DRW, Palantir, AWS, NeurIPS, ICML, Harvard, Berkeley, and Oxford.
- This is the second hire in Strategy & Operations, offering direct exposure to the CEO and a path toward leading your own business unit.
- The compensation package includes a base salary of $100K–$150K with flexibility, plus equity, meals, medical/dental/vision coverage, visa sponsorship, and relocation assistance.
- Hiring is for up to 5 candidates, and the role is based in San Francisco, CA.
