Job description
About the organisation
RISE is BCG’s Singapore-based upskilling initiative focused on helping mid-career professionals and small and medium enterprises grow. Supported by the Singapore government, the programme sits at the crossroads of business performance and social impact and operates within BCG’s global capability-building arm, BCGU. The organisation is expanding quickly, and this role is designed for someone who can help strengthen the next stage of growth.
About the role
This position acts as a key operational anchor and strategic support partner to the leadership team. It is a high-responsibility role that focuses on executing strategic planning, managing communication with stakeholders, and coordinating cross-functional work so leadership can stay focused on direction, prioritisation, and decision-making.
The role offers direct exposure to how a complex, mission-led organisation operates and can serve as a strong stepping stone for someone aiming to grow into senior operations leadership.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and refine presentation materials for leadership forums, quarterly client reviews, and board-level discussions involving BCG partners and clients. Turn strategic ideas into polished, persuasive communications and improve them through feedback.
- Run the operational side of planning cycles across the business, including annual and quarterly planning. Work with each function to gather inputs, manage schedules, bring together priorities and KPIs into dashboards, and track actions across teams.
- Serve as the main link between leadership and the rest of the organisation. Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, support teams in moving priorities forward, and make sure key decisions are communicated clearly across the business.
- Take ownership of new and evolving projects from early scoping through delivery. Handle ambiguous, fast-moving work independently while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Carry out research on best practices for scaling operations, improving functional performance, and identifying new commercial opportunities. Use AI tools and other resources to convert research into clear recommendations.
- Help simplify and automate processes with RISE leadership by using tools such as Asana and other technology platforms, reducing repetitive work and freeing the team to focus on higher-value activity.
- Prepare briefing packs and strategic materials, and coordinate logistics for quarterly client meetings, bi-monthly BCGU leadership updates, and regular communication with BCG partners and the RISE leadership team.
Ideal experience
The preferred background is 5 to 7 years in strategy consulting, operations, or a fast-paced startup environment, with enough experience to work independently and support leadership effectively.
What the organisation is looking for
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, including presentation creation and executive-level correspondence.
- Proven ability to balance multiple stakeholders and competing priorities calmly and clearly.
- Comfortable using AI tools in everyday work and actively looking for ways to automate, experiment, and improve outcomes with them.
- Strong curiosity, sound judgement, and research capability to reach well-structured answers quickly.
- Hands-on experience with project management and presentation tools such as Asana and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and convert broad direction into organised, high-quality outputs with limited supervision.
- Background as a chief of staff or operations manager in a scaling organisation is a plus.
- Familiarity with strategic planning frameworks is beneficial.
- Interest in company building, operations, social impact, and upskilling is important.
Working style
The successful candidate is expected to be highly analytical, curious, and an excellent communicator who can solve problems proactively without needing step-by-step direction. A strong interest in AI and automation as practical productivity tools is essential. The role suits someone who enjoys being the central connector in a team, enabling others to succeed, and staying energised by varied, fast-moving work.
