Strategic Technology Architect

Role overview

Tait Communications is looking for a Strategic Technology Architect to help define the future shape of its mission-critical technology environment. This position suits someone who thinks across systems, studies emerging innovations, weighs their business and operational impact, and can present a practical architectural direction.

As a key architectural contributor within the CTO Office, you will influence long-range architecture planning, carry out independent research, and identify how advances in LMR, LTE/5G/6G, AI/ML, sensing, cloud/edge, and automation can improve outcomes for public safety, utilities, and transportation customers.

This position is focused on strategy and architecture rather than building prototypes. The emphasis is on linking technology exploration to customer outcomes, business value, and investment decisions so the architecture evolves with purpose and clarity.

Key responsibilities

You will be expected to shape architecture strategy across radio, broadband, intelligent systems, and sensing-enabled environments, while working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure technical direction supports the business.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required, along with substantial industry experience in architecture, engineering strategy, or innovation.
