Job description
Role overview
This position sits within OpenAI’s Enterprise Go-To-Market team, which supports large organizations in adopting and scaling AI solutions across their businesses, including ChatGPT Enterprise, developer offerings, and APIs.
The team works with companies in Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail, helping them create AI-powered customer experiences, improve operations, and reshape how work is done in regulated and technically demanding settings. As interest grows through pilots, experimentation, and developer-led use cases, the GTM team helps convert that activity into durable enterprise-wide deployments.
This role is intended as an entry point for future enterprise sellers at OpenAI. It is a strategic position with strong exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy. You will build practical experience in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal development, and executive communication while learning how leading businesses adopt AI.
The company is seeking professionals with 4–6+ years of experience who want to grow into world-class enterprise sellers over time. Advancement to Account Director or other GTM roles may be possible, but movement depends on performance and business priorities rather than a fixed schedule.
For the right candidate, this role offers a fast route into sales at OpenAI and a long-term path in AI go-to-market.
In this role, you will help identify, shape, and move complex enterprise opportunities by converting product usage, pilots, and inbound interest into well-qualified opportunities for the Enterprise and Strategic Accounts teams.
What you will do
- Work with Account Directors on account planning, multi-threading, and advancing deals through the pipeline.
- Create and run focused outbound motions using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and product signals to open doors in priority accounts.
- Conduct strong discovery conversations to uncover business priorities, identify stakeholders, and evaluate enterprise readiness.
- Support pipeline discussions by bringing outbound activity, account observations, and early competitive insights.
- Develop and refine AI-enabled GTM workflows such as GPTs and agents to improve prospecting and qualification at scale.
What the team is looking for
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or strategic customer-facing roles in finance or consulting.
- A consistent history of meeting and exceeding ambitious targets in enterprise or strategic sales settings.
- Experience selling into complex or regulated sectors such as Financial Services, Life Sciences, or Retail.
- Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to build trust with senior C-suite stakeholders and engage technical buyers effectively.
- Genuine interest in the AI ecosystem and the ability to connect OpenAI’s products to customer value and business outcomes.
- Comfort with introducing new technology and helping the market understand its possibilities.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, move quickly, and take strong ownership of outcomes.
