Role overview

Vestas is looking for a proactive, well-organised, and safety-minded Stock Keeper to support the Tararua Wind Farm team in Palmerston North, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. This position offers the opportunity to build a career in the renewable energy sector with a global organisation focused on clean energy and continuous improvement.

No prior renewable energy experience is required. Candidates with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset are encouraged to apply.

What you will do

  • Keep stock, tools, equipment, and daily service work packs organised and ready for use.
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions.
  • Work with internal teams and external contacts to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Prepare reports and related documentation.
  • Support health, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Order consumables and tools needed for service work.
  • Identify issues, help solve problems, and suggest practical improvements.
  • Maintain the site warehouse so it remains tidy, efficient, and safe.
  • Take part in stocktake activities and inventory checks.

Required qualifications and capabilities

  • Administrative and technology-related skills, including SAP and Microsoft 365.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
  • A forklift licence, or the willingness and ability to learn forklift operation.

Preferred competencies

  • Forklift licence preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Dangerous Goods training can be arranged by the employer.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time-management and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Strong commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team.
  • Comfortable working in demanding and fast-changing situations.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Flexibility for intra-state travel.
