Role overview
Orwell Healthcare is seeking a Registered General Nurse (Staff Nurse) to join its care of the elderly services in Rathgar, Dublin 6. This is a full-time, permanent position working 39 hours per week, with pay starting from €21.00 per hour.
The organisation has been providing care since 1987 and operates two Rathgar sites: Orwell Private, which offers convalescence, long-term care and acquired brain injury services, and Orwell Queen of Peace, which provides long-term care. Its approach focuses on delivering a high-quality, person-centred experience in a friendly, homely and luxurious setting. Services include residential long- and short-term care, dementia support, acquired brain injury care, respite care and home care support.
What the role involves
The Staff Nurse will work alongside the nursing team to help maintain a consistently high standard of care for residents, reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing. The role requires strong professional and ethical standards, and an ongoing commitment to improving clinical, leadership and teaching capability in line with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) expectations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with NMBI and HIQA requirements.
- Support the day-to-day management and care of residents while following Orwell Healthcare policies, procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain professional integrity and clinical practice in line with the Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other disciplines both inside and outside the organisation.
Candidate profile
Applicants should be registered with the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, have solid clinical experience, and show a clear commitment to person-centred care. Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are essential, along with fluent spoken and written English.
Additional information
This is an in-person role based in Rathgar, Dublin 6. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts. Candidates must be able to work in Ireland and should not apply unless they already hold a current NMBI PIN. Applicants are also asked whether they now or in the future will need visa sponsorship to work in Ireland.
