Role overview
The Sr. Retail Merchandiser will be responsible for managing merchandising activities for 2 to 3 assigned categories across B2B stores, with a focus on apparel, fashion, and footwear. The role covers assortment planning, pricing decisions, stock allocation, and on-ground execution to support sales growth and healthy inventory movement.
Category management
You will oversee assigned categories end to end, using store-level needs and sales trends to shape product assortment, pricing, and inventory placement. A key part of the role is reviewing category performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and taking action to strengthen sell-through and margin outcomes.
Store merchandising and execution
This position requires ensuring that products are placed correctly and that planograms are followed consistently across stores. Regular store visits and audits will be needed to confirm that merchandising standards and brand expectations are being met, while also improving product visibility and the in-store shopping experience.
Inventory and supply coordination
The role involves working with supply chain and warehouse partners to keep replenishment timely and inventory levels balanced. You will track stock availability, monitor ageing stock, and support liquidation plans where necessary, along with contributing to demand planning and forecasting activities.
Cross-functional coordination
You will collaborate closely with frontend and store teams to execute promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns smoothly. The role also includes supporting merchandising plans tied to new launches and marketing activities so that execution stays aligned across functions.
Reporting and performance tracking
You will monitor and share category KPIs such as sales, liquidation, stock turns, and inventory health. Regular reporting with clear, actionable insights will be expected to help management make informed decisions and improve operational efficiency.
Experience and skills
The role calls for 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising, ideally in B2B retail, FMCG, apparel, or modern trade. Candidates should bring strong analytical ability, sound retail merchandising knowledge, inventory handling experience, and excellent communication, coordination, and Excel skills.
Preferred background and competencies
Experience in B2B retail or wholesale settings will be an added advantage, especially where store-level merchandising execution and category performance improvement were key responsibilities. The ideal candidate should demonstrate ownership, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and a results-driven mindset.
