Role Overview
The Sr. Director, National Accounts will own headquarters-level relationships with major partners such as Kroger and Albertsons, while also shaping sales strategy and execution across divisional planning for each account. This position is responsible for growing customer partnerships, improving profitability, and expanding Recess' presence across key retail markets.
The role combines strategic account leadership with hands-on execution, requiring someone who can deliver measurable results while strengthening long-term customer relationships. This position is also eligible for the Recess Sales Bonus Plan, with details shared during the hiring process.
What You Will Do
- Hit targets for volume, revenue, and market share, while also improving core performance measures such as ACV, promotional efficiency, and trade return on investment.
- Oversee trade spend and promotional budgets so resources are used effectively and remain aligned with business goals.
- Create and deliver tailored pitch decks for Recess products that speak to the needs of each key account.
- Develop and sustain trusted relationships with buyers and senior stakeholders at customer organizations.
- Manage the P&L impact of slotting, promotions, and other customer-driven expenses.
- Work closely with internal partners across Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and related teams to execute account plans successfully.
- Spot and pursue growth opportunities within targeted key channels.
- Prepare accurate and timely updates on promotional calendars and customer activity.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of sales experience in consumer packaged goods, ideally within mass or grocery channels.
- Prior work with Kroger, Albertsons, or comparable national accounts is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of CPG sales processes and promotional planning.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal abilities.
- Confident presentation and communication skills.
- Good financial acumen, including the ability to handle trade budgets and P&L responsibility.
- A results-driven approach, with adaptability and comfort in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
Compensation
The base salary for this position is $175,000 to $200,000, plus the opportunity to earn an incentive plan bonus. The role operates on standard business hours, with flexibility needed for travel and retail execution requirements.
