Sr. Business Development Manager - APAC

Role overview

Esri is looking for a senior business development leader to work with distributor partners across APAC, helping drive co-selling efforts and broader adoption of Esri technology. This role uses enterprise sales expertise and multi-channel software business development experience to expand geographic technology opportunities in the region. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Esri’s distributor ecosystem to help customers increase usage, uncover new growth areas, and apply domain expertise that supports their business goals.

What you'll do

• Create and advance new opportunities by clearly explaining business value to customers and distributors across the region, opening doors in new industries and market segments while generating growth for Esri, its partners, and customers.
• Shape strategy by confidently engaging, presenting to, and negotiating with senior executives and other key stakeholders. Contribute strong commercial and financial insight to regional planning, and demonstrate deep knowledge of Esri’s products, applications, and GIS value.
• Strengthen partnerships by building durable relationships with customers and distributors, facilitating productive meetings, and sharing ideas that influence both internal and external stakeholders. Support the broader team by mentoring colleagues and actively sharing knowledge.
• Deliver outcomes by leading distributor executive reviews to close enterprise agreement terms and conditions, and by competing effectively in challenging sales situations through research and strong understanding of industries and countries in the region.

What we're looking for

• At least 5 years of experience supporting customer needs through technical requirement gathering and solution design.
• Background in selling enterprise software both directly and through channel partners.
• Strong capability in negotiation and strategic business discussions.
• Advanced presentation and storytelling ability, including experience speaking at conferences and presenting to executives.
• Fast learner who can absorb new technology and turn it into practical customer solutions.
• Strong command of English, plus additional languages where required, both spoken and written.
• Working understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and how they connect with different industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
• Willingness to travel internationally 25% to 50% of the time.

Preferred background

• Experience in business intelligence, marketing, market planning, supply chain, or similar business functions.
• Exposure to a global consulting environment focused on business process improvement in engineering, operations, customer care, and finance.
• Master’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field.
