Sports Solutions Architect

About the role

A leading technology solutions and services company in Doha is looking for a seasoned Sports Solutions Architect to create and implement resilient, high-capacity technology platforms for sports venues, live events, and facility operations. The role focuses on building solution blueprints that can support demanding operational and event-driven environments.

What you will do

• Design complete solution and application architectures for sports operations, event workflows, and venue management platforms.
• Build scalable and highly available architectures for building management, facility management, venue applications, event systems, and mobile apps.
• Prepare both high-level and detailed technical designs, along with architecture standards and supporting specifications.
• Review proposed solutions to confirm they align with best practices and use the most suitable technologies.
• Drive solution development and help define SDLC processes, tools, and engineering practices.
• Support development teams in applying modern software engineering and architecture principles.
• Run capacity and performance modelling to verify systems can handle peak event-day and regular operating loads.
• Evaluate solution changes and complete impact assessments with infrastructure and platform teams.
• Enable integrations with systems from event organizers, venue operators, and external partners.
• Keep up to date with new technologies and architecture approaches relevant to sports and large-scale event settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a Solutions Architect role or a closely related position.
• Hands-on experience designing and rolling out large-scale solutions for venues, events, or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong command of solution architecture practices such as component modelling, scenario-based evaluation, and impact analysis.
• Good knowledge of SDLC, requirements analysis, and both high-level and detailed technical design.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders across functions.
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft developer/architect credentials and enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF or similar.
