Role Overview
The Sourcing Specialist supports supplier relationships, sourcing activity, and compliance work so that contracts, documentation, and projects stay accurate and on track. The role combines coordination, supplier compliance, and process improvement while working closely with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Compliance
- Assist with Sedex-related integration and ongoing supplier compliance efforts.
- Organize supplier records, documents, and ethical sourcing information to keep data complete and accurate.
- Monitor compliance issues, open risks, and overdue corrective actions, and follow up as needed.
- Support sourcing practices that align with company standards and supplier expectations.
Contract Coordination
- Track supplier contracts to help ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely renewals.
- Maintain well-structured contract files and keep information aligned across SAP, MDG, and related systems.
- Spot inconsistencies, gaps, or risks and escalate them when necessary.
Supplier Sourcing Support
- Support supplier sourcing and onboarding for assigned categories or projects.
- Coordinate supplier information, setup steps, and required documentation to help onboarding move smoothly.
- Work with cross-functional partners to support supplier readiness and sourcing work.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate sourcing and compliance projects, including timelines, tasks, and follow-ups.
- Keep stakeholders informed through clear communication and status updates.
- Track milestones to help ensure successful delivery of sourcing and compliance initiatives.
- Support completion of initiatives within defined timelines and business needs.
Continuous Improvement
- Look for ways to make sourcing, contract administration, and compliance processes more effective.
- Help implement simpler and more efficient ways of working.
- Take part in improvement efforts across sourcing, supplier compliance, and related cross-functional processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sourcing, procurement, R&D, quality, operations, and other stakeholders on supplier and compliance activities.

Education and Experience
A post-secondary background in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related area is required.
The role calls for 2 to 3 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, compliance, contract coordination, or project management. Experience in consumer packaged goods or food manufacturing is considered an advantage. Familiarity with SAP, Sedex, or similar systems is preferred. Certifications such as PMP, CSCL, or related credentials are also considered an asset. Interest in the agriculture or food industry is a plus.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, education, training, and organizational needs, while also considering internal equity.
