Job description
Role overview
This freelance contract is suited to a social media specialist who can think strategically and evaluate performance with a strong analytical lens. The assignment is to review and improve the current social media presence for a UK upholstery retailer, with the aim of lifting sales and audience engagement. You will examine the work already being handled by an overseas contractor, pinpoint what is working and what is not, and turn those findings into practical recommendations. Background in furniture, interiors, or retail is especially useful, along with a history of producing measurable outcomes in comparable projects.
What you will deliver
- Carry out a full review of the company’s social media and LinkedIn activity, with attention to content quality, engagement levels, and how well the channels support commercial goals.
- Prepare a clear written report that highlights current strengths, gaps, and opportunities to refine the strategy.
- Recommend specific improvements that can raise reach, interaction, and conversion performance for a furniture and interiors audience.
- Share examples of past work that demonstrate experience in social media audits and strategy refinement.
- Advise on how progress should be tracked over time, with the possibility of extending the collaboration if the results are strong.
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management, ideally with exposure to retail, furniture, or interiors brands.
- Strong ability to interpret data and convert it into practical recommendations.
- Working knowledge of major social platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Confidence in evaluating existing campaigns in a constructive and solution-oriented way.
- Excellent writing ability and a sharp eye for detail.
- Availability to complete an initial audit, with potential for follow-on work.
- A portfolio or case studies that show relevant project experience.
