This position focuses on publishing content, preparing lightweight social assets, and engaging with a worldwide audience that shares an interest in nature. The work is intended to keep content timely, aligned with channel strategy, and tailored to each platform.
The role also uses platform insights and social best practices to guide posting choices, while partnering with marketing teams across the organization to gather, organize, and prioritize content. Through active community management, the coordinator supports stronger audience relationships and helps drive awareness, engagement, and action in support of the organization’s mission.
Key duties
- Plan, schedule, and publish content each day across the organization’s primary social channels.
- Keep the social content calendar current and adjust posting decisions in real time based on priorities, cultural relevance, and performance data.
- Collect, sort, and refine material from internal teams, marketing partners, and existing organizational assets, including opportunities to reuse strong-performing content.
- Assist with lightweight content production for social posts, such as writing copy and locating visuals or other assets.
- Coordinate social content across teams so that materials are tagged correctly, tracked, prepared, and scheduled for best results.
- Monitor and manage comments, replies, and direct messages while following brand voice and engagement standards.
- Work with internal stakeholders to support campaigns, editorial plans, and important organizational updates.
- Keep up with new trends, tools, formats, and platform changes to support testing and ongoing improvement.
- Use social media workflow and creative tools to support efficient execution.
- Manage assigned projects on schedule and exercise sound judgment within set guidelines.
- Occasionally travel for meetings, events, trainings, and team retreats.
- Be available for occasional evening and weekend work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus at least 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Experience coordinating and organizing projects.
- Experience proofreading and editing business materials.
- Preference for candidates with proofreading experience in communications content.
- Genuine interest in social platforms, digital culture, trends, and audience behavior.
- Hands-on experience with social media management and analytics tools.
- Working knowledge of social media performance measures.
- Ability to work across teams and explain social media best practices to colleagues outside the function.
- Experience creating social media content.
- Understanding of marketing and communications principles.
- Experience building relationships with customers or colleagues.
- Strong motivation, organization, and attention to detail.
- Background supporting mission-driven or values-based organizations is a plus.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience is preferred.
