Job description
Overview
Ventra Health is looking for an early-career Junior Snowflake / Azure Data Factory (ADF) Data Engineer to strengthen its Data & Analytics team in Hyderabad. This position is designed for someone who wants to deepen hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Azure, and contemporary data platforms while contributing to real-world data solutions.
The selected engineer will help build and maintain data pipelines, support analysis work, and partner with senior engineers and leads to deliver dependable, high-quality data outputs. It is a practical learning-oriented role with room to take on more advanced data engineering ownership over time.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
- Support the movement of data through ingestion, transformation, and load stages.
- Work with established data models in the Medallion framework, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- Carry out fundamental validation checks and help maintain data accuracy and quality.
- Assist with data analysis and source-system discovery tasks.
- Help investigate and resolve data-related issues with direction from senior team members.
- Document data flows, transformation logic, and mapping details.
- Work closely with Senior Engineers, Leads, and Architects to absorb best practices.
- Coordinate with Product, QA, and BI teams to support delivery of data solutions.
- Take part in Agile activities such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Build capability in SQL, Snowflake, ADF, and core data engineering practices.
- Learn and apply data modeling principles and performance tuning techniques.
- Use tools such as Copilot to support development and analysis tasks.
- Contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in data engineering, data development, or a similar area.
- Hands-on exposure to SQL and relational database systems.
- Basic familiarity with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, or comparable tools.
- Understanding of ELT concepts.
- Exposure to Python or another scripting language is a plus.
Eligibility
Any graduate can apply. Candidates should have a background or early experience in data engineering, data development, or a related field, with SQL and relational database familiarity.
