Role overview
This position is for a SHEQ System Specialist I based in Dubai, UAE, with a focus on supporting a leading heavy lifting and transportation business. The main emphasis is on Quality within the broader Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality framework. The role combines system support, documentation control, reporting, audit assistance, training coordination, and general departmental administration.
SHEQ systems and quality support
- Help maintain and improve the organization’s SHEQ management system documentation.
- Support company-wide SHEQ programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to SHEQ-related inputs during tendering activities.
- Carry out SHEQ induction and onboarding support.
- Assist with preparing SHEQ documents and related records.
Audits and compliance
- Support the planning and execution of internal audits.
- Help coordinate external and third-party audit activities.
Reporting and analysis
- Prepare regional SHEQ reports and review them for insights.
- Monitor KPIs and identify patterns, risks, and areas for improvement.
Documentation and administration
- Maintain controlled SHEQ documentation and filing systems.
- Provide administrative support to the department as needed.
Tendering and project support
- Support the preparation of SHEQ content for tender submissions.
- Provide compliance and documentation inputs for project bids.
- Assist with preparation of project-related documentation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be a graduate, preferably in Science or Engineering, with around 5 years of experience in Quality or SHE roles, including site exposure in heavy industrial environments such as oil and gas, shipyards, fabrication units, or factories. The role calls for ISO Lead Auditor certifications, NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualifications, and Quality Assurance certifications. Strong spoken and written English is essential, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A valid UAE driving licence would be an added advantage.
