Opportunity
This role supports a fast-paced and active Diagnostic Imaging Department at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. The main focus is moving patients safely to and from imaging appointments, while also helping keep patient spaces orderly and making sure clinical stock is checked, replenished, and ready for the care team. It is a strong fit for someone comfortable being on their feet, communicating well, and working closely with patients and healthcare staff in a safety-focused environment.
Role overview
In this Service Worker I position, you will move patients, clients, residents, and equipment between care areas within the hospital. You will also help distribute supplies, restock units, and clean equipment and patient-care areas as directed. The job may also include handling lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts, as well as escalating supply concerns and safety issues to unit leadership. Other assigned duties may be part of the role as needed.

Required qualifications
Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education is required.
Additional qualifications
Prior work or volunteer experience in a clinical healthcare environment is required.
Preferred background
Experience with Diagnostic Imaging processes, related terminology, and safe equipment transport is an advantage. Previous work as a Tech Aid or Service Worker in an acute care hospital is also preferred.
Duties and expectations
The successful candidate will help maintain patient flow, support unit readiness, and contribute to the safe movement of people, materials, and equipment throughout the hospital. Attention to detail, reliability, and a patient-focused approach are important in this role.
