Role summary
This full-time Service Desk Technician Level 2 position is based onsite in Penrose, Auckland. It is suited to a technician who wants to do more than close tickets quickly and prefers a quality-driven environment where issues are resolved properly the first time. The annual salary range for this position is NZ$70,000 to NZ$80,000.
What the role involves
As a Level 2 Technician, you will act as an important escalation point within the Service Desk and support a wide range of client environments. The role focuses on resolving complex technical problems and delivering solutions that are reliable, scalable, and built to last.
- Take full ownership of escalated technical incidents until they are fully resolved
- Provide advanced support across Windows, Server, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Support both end users and core infrastructure components
- Carry out onsite work, deployments, and project delivery tasks
- Serve as a dependable escalation contact for Level 1 technicians
- Focus on identifying and fixing root causes rather than applying temporary workarounds
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently with clients
What you will need
The ideal candidate brings solid experience in IT support, preferably in a managed service provider environment, along with a strong technical foundation and a client-focused approach.
- At least 3 years of IT support experience, ideally within an MSP
- Microsoft certification
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Understanding of Active Directory and networking basics
- Experience using RMM and PSA platforms, with N-able and Autotask considered an advantage
- Proactive, accountable, and customer-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Project management knowledge
- Valid NZ full driver’s licence
