Role Overview

Releaf is hiring an experienced SEO Content Writer to join its busy Marketing team. The role calls for someone who can simplify complex subjects into accurate, trustworthy content that performs well in search and genuinely supports readers. You should have a strong writing background, a keen interest in health topics, and a practical understanding of SEO, including what users are searching for and how to address those needs clearly.

You will report to the Head of Content and be responsible for producing content that matches Releaf’s tone of voice, supports search visibility, and stays within the regulatory boundaries relevant to the sector. The position is hands-on, includes training and support, and requires someone who can work independently, follow a brief, and consistently meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce clear, accurate, engaging content for Releaf’s website, blog, patient stories, PR materials, and other marketing channels, with a focus on both search performance and reader usefulness.
• Research every topic thoroughly so that the final copy is well-informed, reliable, and properly grounded in credible sources.
• Apply on-page SEO practices while writing, including search intent, heading structure, metadata, internal links, and natural keyword placement.
• Maintain a consistent brand voice across different content types while adjusting style to suit each channel.
• Demonstrate strong E-E-A-T standards by creating content that shows expertise, authority, and trust, supported by reputable references and up-to-date guidance.
• Self-edit carefully for grammar, clarity, and overall quality, and incorporate feedback from the Head of Content.
• Ensure all content complies with the legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
• Refresh and improve existing content so it remains accurate and continues to perform well in search over time.
• Write with modern search and AI discovery in mind, helping Releaf appear in and be referenced by search engines and AI tools.
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Content and wider team to plan, produce, and publish content efficiently.

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of experience creating SEO-focused content, either in-house, at an agency, or on a freelance basis.
• Excellent written English with native-level fluency, strong grammar, and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Experience writing about healthcare, lifestyle, wellness, or another regulated, high-trust subject area.
• Ability to organise your own workload, work from briefs, and deliver to deadlines without close supervision.
• Familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Search Console, and with CMS platforms such as DATO or Sanity, is desirable.
• Awareness of how AI search and large language models are changing content discovery is desirable.
• Understanding of compliance requirements in a regulated sector is desirable.
• Good knowledge of on-page SEO and search intent is desirable.

Performance Expectations

This is a high-accountability writing role. Success is measured by the quality of work before publication and by how the content performs after it goes live. Output and turnaround expectations are set with the Head of Content and depend on the length and complexity of each assignment.
