It also involves creating automation opportunities to replace manual work through SAP-based smart solutions.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to SAP FICO and FSCM rollouts, while also supporting and continuously improving the solution for NAKILAT and its joint ventures.
  • Give post-go-live assistance to finance, controlling, project systems, and treasury users, including support for workaround design where needed.
  • Help Finance and Treasury teams complete month-end and year-end close tasks such as GR/IR clearing, foreign currency valuation, internal order settlement, project settlement, corporate service allocation, and carrying forward customer and G/L balances.
  • Coordinate with the SAP ABAP team to shape custom developments and system enhancements.
  • Ensure that Qatar-specific legal and compliance needs, such as withholding tax, are properly implemented in SAP.
  • Partner with the SAP Basis team to define user roles and authorization structures, maintaining segregation of duties and restricting access to the correct company codes.
  • Prepare SAP training content and deliver training to end users.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to finance processes so transactions can be completed more efficiently and with less manual effort.
  • Configure new enhancements, RFC updates, and break-fix service desk items within SAP FICO and FSCM.
  • Support the creation of analytical reports and dashboards using Power BI and SAP Data Sphere.
  • Keep RFC records updated for production support matters.
  • Maintain project files, business process documentation, and configuration records.
  • Work with business users and other departments to investigate issues, identify root causes, document findings, and implement solutions.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
  • Professional certification in the FICO or FSCM module is expected.
  • Applicants should have 5 to 7 years of SAP experience, with at least 3 years in a comparable role, ideally in a similar industry.

Required skills and knowledge

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICO and FSCM.
  • Solid understanding of finance sub-modules and how they interact across the finance landscape.
  • Client communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
  • Working knowledge of S/4HANA solutions, BTP, Fiori apps, and integrations.
  • Ability to model business data, preferably using SAP Data Sphere.
  • Experience with dashboard reporting and business analytics in Power BI.
  • Understanding of SAP interfaces and integration with external technologies such as Microsoft products.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and Dataflows.
