Senior Solutions Architect

Role overview

We are seeking an experienced, future-focused Solution Architect to shape the design and ongoing development of the architecture behind a portfolio of SaaS and custom-built products. The position calls for someone who can make sound architectural choices that support product direction, business goals, and end-user needs while delivering platforms that can scale, recover well, and adapt to future demands.

A deep background in microservices architecture is important for this role, together with the ability to design cloud-neutral platforms that connect smoothly with both internal tools and external systems.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the architecture, design, and implementation of contemporary microservices-based solutions that enable scale, flexibility, and independent release cycles.
• Take ownership of the full solution architecture and ensure the products remain configurable, scalable, and usable across different cloud environments.
• Create and keep updated High-Level Design and Low-Level Design documents that guide development and delivery teams.
• Define deployment approaches that strengthen reliability, resilience, and operating efficiency.
• Build integration patterns for APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and third-party platforms.
• Set architectural standards, technology choices, and design patterns that can support both current requirements and future expansion.
• Run architecture reviews and provide governance so that solutions meet expectations for performance, scalability, and quality.
• Design systems that are highly available, secure, and able to support increasing customer demand.
• Promote cloud-neutral design by using services and patterns that can work across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance considerations are built into architectural decisions from the start.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering teams, DevOps specialists, and business stakeholders to align technical direction with strategic goals.
• Translate business needs and product vision into practical, scalable architecture.
• Act as a reliable technical advisor and encourage architectural best practices within internal teams and partner organisations.
• Stay current with new technologies, architectural methods, cloud developments, and SaaS market trends.
• Look for ways to improve existing platforms, raise technical efficiency, and support continuous architectural improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a closely related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in software architecture, solution design, or another senior technical role.
• Proven track record of delivering solution architecture for SaaS platforms and cloud-neutral applications.
• Strong capability in designing distributed systems, scalable APIs, and enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS products or large enterprise applications.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are an advantage.
• Exposure to data architecture, AI/ML integration, monitoring, and observability platforms.
• Solid understanding of microservices, microfrontends, event-driven systems, and API-first design approaches.
• Ability to create architecture frameworks that can support business growth and changing customer expectations.
• Hands-on familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP, with an emphasis on portable and cloud-neutral solutions.
• Experience designing highly scalable, resilient, distributed systems with strong performance characteristics.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, and compliance standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, and ISO 270.
• Working knowledge of modern technologies such as React, Python, Go, and Node.js, along with current software development practices.
