Role overview
This is a senior, hands-on leadership position focused on shaping, delivering, and running Aptiv’s enterprise analytics and AI capabilities. The role combines strong technical depth with people management, covering large-scale analytics platforms, advanced data architecture, and enterprise agentic AI enablement through Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry.
What you will do
- Partner with business and technology teams at all levels to design, build, and validate big data analytics solutions that draw from multiple source systems.
- Set and enforce strong practices for data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and visualization to improve quality and reduce duplication.
- Define, maintain, and follow enterprise data standards and policies.
- Take ownership of the enterprise analytics and AI landscape, including platforms, tools, integrations, and cloud services.
- Develop and promote consistent naming conventions and coding standards.
- Lead data architects and analysts, including line management responsibilities for teams delivering and maintaining analytics and AI solutions.
- Ensure technical design quality, successful delivery, platform stability, and ongoing modernization of the analytics and AI ecosystem.
- Work with functional and technical leaders to prioritize technology initiatives that support analytics goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to define a scalable vision, mission, and strategy for enterprise business data models.
- Coach global technical project teams working on Google data platform components.
- Drive continuous improvement, enrichment, and governance within the DataOps operating model.
- Maintain high engineering standards, solution integrity, and operational reliability across all analytics and AI programs.
- Balance innovation with day-to-day stability through a mature DataOps approach.
- Set operating standards for monitoring, performance tuning, incident response, and cost management.
What you need
- A Bachelor of Science degree, a master’s degree in software engineering or computer science, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 years of experience using a range of development methods to deliver robust IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS analytics solutions.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataplex, Looker, Cloud Data Fusion, Data Catalog, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Analytics Hub, Pub/Sub, Dataprep, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud SQL, Cloud IAM, Google Kubernetes Engine, and AutoML.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, and Hadoop environments.
- Object-oriented programming experience with Java, Python, and .NET.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting ability, including log review and performance tuning.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio for designing, configuring, and delivering enterprise AI agents.
- Experience with Microsoft Foundry for AI lifecycle management, governance, and operationalization.
- Knowledge of Azure data and analytics services such as Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL.
- Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID for identity, access management, and security integration.
- Working awareness of responsible AI, security, and compliance requirements in Microsoft environments.
- Preferred exposure to current industry trends and new technologies in data and analytics.
- Helpful experience with Informatica, Alteryx, Qlik, and Tableau platform support.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Power Platform/Copilot-related credentials, are an advantage.
